Day One – Lighthouse Tour: Ludington North Breakwater Light

Ludington Lighthouse
The Ludington North Breakwater Light is a distinctively shaped lighthouse with a unique profile that allows it to cut through the crashing waves like the bow of a ship. There is a pier leading out to the lighthouse, however we walked the wrong direction, onto a smaller pier looking into the sun. The lighthouse was formerly owned by the City of Ludington, until it was turned over to the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association, who have opened the structure up to public tours from late May through Early September. It’s only a short drive from the Grand Haven area and would be a great staycation!
