Stand Up Paddleboarding, known as SUP, is the latest craze to sweep the sandy shores of the Great Lakes. Many first time SUP-ers are surprised to discover just how simple it actually is. “Intro to SUP” is an introductory class, provided by Knee Deep Living, held right at the beautiful Grand Haven Beach.
Your 60-minute session will begin with learning the two most important aspects of paddleboarding: fun and safety. The instructors will teach you the fundamentals and proper safety precautions you’ll need to fully enjoy all that the sport of SUP has to offer. You will develop your paddle stroke and learn different turning techniques which will help you find your confidence on the board.
Experience is not required for taking this class; all you will need is “a smile and an ability to swim!” And once you have taken this class (or a private lesson or SUP Basics), you can move on to the other fun sessions Knee Deep Living has to offer, like PaddleFit or Paddle Yoga!
Intro to SUP is only $20 per person and the cost includes equipment, a personal flotation device (P.F.D.), water safety instruction, on-land instruction, water instruction, and free time to practice. If you already have your own board, the price of your session will reduce to $10!
This class is held at Grand Haven City Beach on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. Advance registration is required, so call Knee Deep Living at (616)502-6932 to reserve your space for SUP ASAP!
