The Coast Guard Festival remains to be one of Grand Haven’s premiere weeks for area businesses, as thousands of tourists flock from all over to witness the week long salute to those who have served in the Coast Guard, with a celebration of various festivities for the whole family to enjoy. The Holiday Inn Spring Lake continues to show their support to the festival referring travelers to the activities in downtown Grand Haven and yet remained a refuge for those looking to get out of the traffic as the property resides in Spring Lake along the banks of the Grand River. On Coast Guard Saturday multiple staff members participated in the Grand Parade, walking along side our mini great sign float built by our handy Maintenance Department. Staff handed out over 500 pounds of candy and $5000 dollars worth of Jack’s on the Waterfront Restaurant gift cards! The efforts of dedicated staff was well rewarded when the Holiday Inn Spring Lake was presented a trophy for the best commercial float entry! That evening our great lawn, often held for ceremonies and lawn parties in the summer, opened to the public for a Backyard BBQ including hot off the grill favorites, live entertainment and kids club activities. After a week full of activity we didn’t let Sunday slip away, as Jack’s offered up a special Sunday Brunch Buffet from 8AM-2PM hosting an array of favorites from both breakfast and lunch. All military veterans were welcome to eat free in our final salute to the weekend pride. We are relieved to be able to breathe as we say farewell to the weekend warriors, and give thanks to all the patrons we had the pleasure of accommodating, but have to say we are already looking forward to what the Coast Guard Festival will bring next year!
