Holiday Inn at 2012 Winterfest Cardboard Sled Race!

Our crafty maintenance crew re-created Jack’s signature tiki pole, transforming it into a high speed sled at this years Grand Haven Winterfest Cardboard Sled Race.

Matt Yost, Richard Holcomb, Pat Strait, and Donna Haig took on the cardboard sled race and dominated in the first round. When it came time for the second round the tiki sled fell short but against all odds the experience and the crowd cheers will not be forgotten. Who knows, the tiki may return with a vengeance to rule the slopes next year.

January West Michigan Bridal Show

This past weekend Trish, Director of Sales and Molly, Banquet Coordinator battled the winter storms and represented the Holiday Inn Spring Lake – Grand Haven at the West Michigan Bridal Show located at the Devos Place in Grand Rapids. We were amongst over 50 different vendors and saw over 500 potential brides. Our gift was a super cute 2012 calendar with gorgeous pictures of our facility and wedding tips. If anyone wants a cute calendar for your purse stop in and ask the front desk! We also did a drawing for a Romance Package, the lucky winner is….Melinda Sanchez! Congrats to her and her fiancé Ron Miller!

The buzz hitting local news feeds has all been leading up to today. Jack’s Restaurant has released a new menu overseen by the new executive chef Todd Riemersma! The atmosphere was remarkable in Jack’s Restaurant over lunch as the kitchen staff prepared phenomenal dishes and Riemersma walked the floor talking to guests and the local Rotary Club who were having a banquet event. As a bystander to the action I’ve seen his hands-on leadership in the back of the house progress through to the floor service where great dishes are becoming an all around experience showing Riemersma’s heart, passion, experience and exceptional taste. Jack’s Restaurant has begun a progressive change and we hope to share this time with the public.
